This life is a path of initiation into the multi-dimensional lineages of radical imagination.
Radical imagination holds the path to our healing, past, present and future.
Radical imagination is how we build relationship with our ancestors and access their medicines.
We are the descendants of radical imagination.

Lessons on Flow
Sometimes our own self-determined conditions function to obscure paths of ease and flow in our lives.
Many times I have internally weaponized practices of presence into conditions I tell myself I must meet in order to be worthy of accessing and existing in states of ease and flow.
Despite my inner saboteurs best efforts and through sheer grace, I am reminded often that I don’t need to meditate, create an altar or perform rituals to access and exist in states of ease and flow.
Existing in and accessing states of ease and flow are birthrights.
May Spirit,Ancestors, Flow, and all of those ones rooted in Love always find you in the most mundane moments. May these moments of contact serve as evidence that in our most ordinary, messy and uncurated states of being, existing in states of flow and ease await us.

Harvest Time Medicine
Alaafia and Blessings fellow life travelers,
On the heels of the Autumn Equinox and in the spirit of the harvest season, I extend blessings and greetings to you and yours.
Today I'm writing to share a bit of what I'm calling harvest time medicine and it is my hope that it sparks curiosity and insight for you along your path.
It Begins With A Story…
A few weeks ago, in community circle, our dear session leader framed our time together as an opportunity to reflect on the harvest season that is upon us. She specifically offered the question below for reflection:
“What has been planted in you this year?”
The question itself prompted an entire exhale from my Spirit as I reflected on the past few months. I felt my awareness drift towards this past spring when the word “soil” seemed be sprinkled generously throughout my internal landscape every time I tuned in to listen. This seemed to be in contrast to the outside world, which appeared to be teeming with seed related metaphors, medicines and photos on social media timelines, as many prepared to greet the spring season. As silly as it sounds, I felt seed-related fomo (fear of missing out) but ultimately decided to trust that my internal cues were signs that there was something the soil wanted to teach me. As I leaned in with curiosity, I quickly found myself deep inside the rabbit holes of bokashi composting (fermenting compost), vermicomposting (worm composting) and chicken manure composting.
The Ah-Ha Moment…
As I reflected back on my external experiences of diving down those rabbit holes, it dawned on me that I was in search of ways to nourish the soil web of my garden. And, my external experiences were not separate from the internal experiences unfolding in my personal life, which also seemed to be invitations beckoning me into deeper relationship with the soil web of my souls garden. Through a series of ongoing challenges and discomforts in my personal relationships, my internal experiences were inviting me to wonder what the soil web of my souls garden needed not only to be nourished, but to also create optimal soil conditions for the seeds that have yet to be planted.
Ya'll, my literal garden soil web and spiritual soil web were working in tandem to guide me into practices intended to facilitate deeper tending of the unseen relationships that create these soil webs, and in turn sustain life. Life itself, in full alignment with the teaching of the soil webs, continued to send experience after experience my way to serve as catalysts, moving me out of the theory and research of tending my soil webs and into the practice of doing so.
Don't you love when the natural worlds reflects our internal worlds back to us? Whew! Isn't Spirit so generous?!?
Harvest Time Medicines…
There are so many layers to the medicines of tending the soil, both physically and spiritually. The medicines below are the layers that feel most present in my heart and awareness.
Entire seasons of life may be dedicated to the tending of the soil web for the seeds that have yet to be planted.
In life as in the garden, we are not only invited to tend the seeds we plant. We are also invited to become stewards of our soil webs.
Challenges in life have the capacity to serve as catalysts moving us out of the research and theory of nourishing the soil web and into the practice of doing so.
My ancestors were soil scientists because they understood their survival depended upon their ability to be in relationship with the soil web. My ancestors had the capacity and presence to understand the conditions of the soil based on how it looked, felt, tasted and smelled. And I too aspire to relate and tend the soil webs of my life with that level of presence and awareness.
In Abundance, Love and Care,
Tamira C
Contemplation Practice
For those resonating with this medicine here are a couple of questions for contemplation:
What does the soil web of life want to teach you?
How do you want to nourish your soil webs moving forward?
Can you imagine a life where tending of the soil webs are part of your daily practice of “being”?
Ritual Practice: Digging Honey Holes
Gather compostable food waste and transport it outside.
Call in your unseen kin and greet the land and soil.
Share you intentions aloud to offer your gift of compost nectar for the nourishment of the soil web.
Dig a hole, gently pour in the compost inside and cover.
Listen to hear what the soil wants to share.
Close with a spell, prayer or song of your choosing.

today’s prayers feel like
holdin’ my beloveds in lingerin’ embraces
wishin’ i could press them
into a place of safety
some place that has likely never existed
but if I ‘magine
it’s somewhere
tween the earth of my skin and bones
veil’d by the breath and ether of my Spirit
today’s prayers feel like
fine sheens of forehead sweat
mists of warm breath
slivers of sheddin’ skin
and coiled tendrils of my beloveds hairs
lingerin’ in the soft folds of my flesh
long after our embraces end
each like bodily talisman
a residue of our lovin’
they press into my flesh
and i consecrate each
with layers of protection, prayer and love
in my heart
i’m willin’ these tiny talisman
to tether my beloveds
to a home
we have built
a home
made of our love
as their bodies move through this world
today’s prayers feel like
pressin sandpaper palms
and calloused feet
into the cool body of the earth
dressed in mornin’ dew
today’s prayers are the practice of
transplantin’ and thinnin’ seedlings
buildin’ soil mounds with bare hands
and me bein’ worked
and changed
by the soil
not the other way ‘round
today’s prayers smell
sweet and sharp
like fermented compost
poured as libation
into the depths of honey holes
dug cross the yard
today’s prayers feel like
chickens
roostin’ on wrists
thin legs
covered in stockins of black and gold scales
movin’ swift beneath feather pant’loons
as they race to receive me
plumed gold and black necks
crainin’ upward in recognition
as I sing my greetings to ‘em
today’s prayers
look like
feel like
sound like
taste like
smell like
sayin yes
to
life
sayin yes
to
breath
even when
it hurts
today’s prayers
look like
feel like
sound like
taste like
smell like
rememberin’
that the simplest of prayers
is often the most potent

Scattered
today i feel scattered
like sand blowing in the wind
and i wonder if there is wholeness in the scattering
i wonder
what makes something whole
is it the sum of ones parts being visible and accounted for
because if so…today I cannot…
and maybe i never was
maybe i mean to say there is something holy in the scattering
as though there are parts of me
carried into new spaces and awaiting me
like small delights and pleasures
dressed up in the gift wrap
of places i have yet to go or may never see
perhaps there is a holiness in re-membering
these pieces exist
in trusting their value does not rely on their
proximity to me
through the vectors of time and space
perhaps there is a holiness
a wholeness
in being everywhere at once and no place at all
perhaps there is a holiness
in knowing
wherever i go, there i am
perhaps there is a holiness
in the possibility
that wherever i go
i run the risk, delight and pleasure
of meeting pieces myself
over
and over
again
i think there is a generosity
in being scattered
ensuring that no matter where i am
there will be some place to go
where i can meet some part of myself
over
and
over
again

Read moreReflections on Power
Within our relationships with power lay our capacities for transformation. The patience of power generously stewards over our transformation process, constantly delivering lessons to each being at the intensity and frequency that is needed for maximum retention and to enact true change. It places beings (human and more than human), relationships and situations in ones direct path to serve as mirrors which both illuminate and reflect facets of one’s relationships with power and places within one’s being that need healing and growth.
Read moreReclaiming Prayer
Although I’ve prayed throughout most my life and grew up with some sort of loose framework around prayer, I had no idea how to engage with prayer in ways that felt connective and nourishing for my spirit. My early framework did not include a clear understanding of what prayer is, nor was it helpful with navigating why I felt so much disconnection when I prayed. My recent study of prayer, has illuminated vital aspects of my existing framework that were missing and pieces that were in need of repair. Throughout my study, I have been in the process of reclaiming my prayer practice, while becoming more aware of what prayer means for me, how to pray in ways that are connective and how to rest in the mystery of prayer.

In the presence of my wise and loving ancestors, I’ve felt my capacity to hold more expand as I dig deep and illuminate the painful personal and ancestral narratives that I once held as truths. These narratives that told me I must hide my joy in order to protect it, that the presence of another’s joy diminishes my own, that there is simply not enough joy to go around, that through the lens of racism I am not afforded the luxury of joy and though a host of other -isms, another’s joy must proceed and or have priority over my own.

My well ancestors have been balm for my wounding around perfectionism. They have both helped and challenged me to remove the pieces of this armor that I carry with un-ending love and firmness. They continue to give me many reality checks about the true price tag of this luxury and lovingly reinforce over and over again that the pursuit of perfection devours time and thrives on the isolation of one from the greater web of life.

As we are witnessing the wide range of illnesses and “-isms” in the world like racism, sexism, impacts of colonialism, xenophobia, violence towards women, exploitative capitalism and misogyny, I invite use to all keep in mind the wisdom of Ruby Sales who says, “We are not born any of these things, by the contrary we are ritualized into perpetuating and upholding these “isms” in the world.”

Welcoming this new year has been a celebration filled with ease and goodness this year. Generally, birthdays are ungrounding and grief-filled reminders of the temporal nature of this body here on earth and a deep longing for home. Somehow, this year feels different and was met with a steadiness that I’ve never felt before- a feeling that my feet are firmly on the ground.
