4:00PM-6:00PM PST
Join ancestral mediums and ritual facilitators Shauna Janz and Tamira Cousett as they co-weave a portal of connection with the ancestral ecosystems that nourish and sustain our lives. Our journey together will be shaped by ritual invocation, song, embodied presence practices and ancestral wisdom teachings and a ritual to connect with your Elder wisdom field, uplifting our capacity as humans to be in relationships rooted in reciprocity with our unseen kin.
Together we will explore the language of Ancestors and the liberatory values that support connection with the vast bodies of Elder Ancestral ecosystems that nourish us. We will explore the innate pathways of embodied connection we are all born with and why this is integral to our individual and collective well-being and liberation.
During our time together, we will invite you into self-reflective and experiential practices. There will be space for large group discussion; however, there will be no small group breakouts. A recording will be made available for two weeks following our gathering.

Who is this for
We warmly invite folks of diverse ancestries, faith-based and cultural traditions, and lived experiences. This ritual space is a queer-celebrating and liberatory offering inviting folks to deepen their relationships with their ancestors and the inherent wisdom that resides in their ancestral ecosystem, in ways that are relevant to their identity and ways of being and knowing.
Meet the Ritual Facilitators
Shauna is the founder of Sacred Grief offering online programs and training in the skills of grieving, ritual, embodied presence, and ancestral re-connection. Her ancestors are northern European from the lands of Scots Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, Germanic and Nordic cultures. On her father’s side, her people are recent refugee-settlers by way of Poland and Ukraine, and on her mother’s side, her people are early colonial-settlers to Turtle Island. She currently resides on the unceded lands of the K'omoks and Pentatch First Nations, on Vancouver Island Pacific West Coast of Canada.
Tamira is a student and medium of ancestral and earth-honoring wisdoms and ritual facilitator. She is the kin of folk from the lands of West Africa by way of Alabama, Ohio, and Indiana and also from the Irish and British Isles. She grew up primarily in Atlanta in a loving Muslim home run by powerful women. She is now embedded in the southern lands of the Catawaba & Eno peoples with her feathered and human kinfolk.
Our Values and Approach
Shauna Janz is a queer ritualist and intuitive who brings experience from over 20 years of contemplative practice, 15 years of guiding trauma-informed grief support, group healing and mentoring, and 8 years of facilitating ritual space and ancestral connection. Her approaches to embodied animist and spirit relations combine with cultural study within feminist, queer, anti-oppressive and decolonial praxis, bridging spiritual/ritual reclamation in service to creating more loving and liberated ways of being, here and now. She has found home and eldership within ancestral Old European cultural revival practices, specifically in the Old Norse oracular mediumship tradition of Seidr and ritual animism.
Tamira is an ancestral medium and ritualist with almost a decade of ritual and mediumship experience. Her approach to ancestral connection practice is rooted in the ecosystems of Love, Womanist and Queer Black liberation theologies. Her initiations into Afro-Brazilian earth-honoring traditions and studies of West African and Black Southern spiritualist traditions ground her ritual approach. She enjoys co-weaving communal containers of curiosity, connection, homecoming, and life-affirming rituals with folks and their ancestral ecosystems of care.
